The market’s best grip*

The factors that determine a motorcycle tyre’s sporty credentials include grip and manoeuvrability, as well as handling during changes of lean angle, under braking and when accelerating hard. MICHELIN came out on top in all of these areas in the Motorrad Test Center test*.

* According to a series of tests carried out by Motorrad Test Center in October 2016 at Boxberg and Neuhausen tracks (Germany) using a BMW S1000RR equipped with 120/70ZR17 and 190/55ZR17 tyres, comparing the new MICHELIN Power RS with the following competitor tyres: Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3, Dunlop Sportsmart 2, Continental Sportattack III, Bridgestone S21, Metzeler M7 RR.

It's my 3rd set of Michelin Power RS.

It's my 3rd set of Michelin Power RS on two naked bikes. I ride very aggressively. Trust that slick shoulder on lean. Just buy it and try. CCSD

Unhappy with the tyres

Michael - February 11, 2020

I came off on a hair pin turn whilst riding a YZ250 supermoto at a go kart track. I was leisure riding and I was doing about 20km/h, brakes on and a medium amount of lean and the front slid out. I expected much more grip after 10 or so laps. It's the first time I've experienced this. It's a a shame because I certainly wasn't pushing the bike. I feel like replacing the tyre after I repair my bike. Pity my leather jacket was damaged too. I have hat much better experiences with Bridgestone Battleaxe. Search on youtube Yamaha YZ250 Supermoto Picton. The tyres are pretty new.

Thumbs up

Thiswayup - January 17, 2020

Have used the 150 & 110’s on my 250 production racer (without tire warmers), giving me great confidence to push as hard as I dare on a hot dry track. They heat up quite quickly on a cool track and seem happy in damp conditions too. They lasted for 7 race meetings (about 40 heat cycles) before the started letting go on the corners, so that’s pretty good. On my 900 road bike they didn’t last all that long but then they’re not a touring tire. However they went well on all road surfaces, including wet weather. Certainly allowed for a lot of hard out riding.
