A Success Story in the USA & Beyond
In addition to their 82 race wins and 19 titles in American endurance racing, Chevrolet-Corvette and Michelin have achieved regular triumphs in the GT class of the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours over the last 15 years.
The relationship between Chevrolet-Corvette and Michelin was born with the creation of the Corvette Racing team in 1999, since when a variety of Corvette C5.R, C6.R and C7.R models – all running on Michelin rubber – have sped to victory at circuits across America and of course Le Mans.
With 82 race wins (including 54 one-two finishes), ten Manufacturers’ crowns and nine Drivers’ titles in the American Le Mans Series – allied to eight class triumphs (including three one-twos) in the Le Mans 24 Hours – Corvette and Michelin irrefutably boast an enviable success record together in endurance racing’s GT category.
Today, the Corvette / Michelin partnership continues in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours – the undisputed jewel in the crown for Chevrolet’s sporting brand as it goes wheel-to-wheel with its European rivals in the toughest race in the world.
In 2015, Chevrolet-Corvette and Michelin succeeded in winning all three of the world’s greatest endurance races in the same season in the GT class: the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
