SAVE FUEL BILLS AND GO GREEN THE MICHELIN WAY

04.23.2009

Conservation of the environment and disposable income is the theme of the ‘MICHELIN Diaries’ to educate car owners on environment–friendly tyres which reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

MICHELIN Malaysia Sdn Bhd Managing Director Yves Pouliquen said the ‘MICHELIN Diaries’ aims to educate the public not only on the benefits of MICHELIN tyres that will improve a vehicle’s overall performance and safety but also help drivers in saving fuel bills and reducing tyre maintenance cost in the long term.

“The ‘MICHELIN Diaries’ exemplifies MICHELIN’s commitment to provide the public an on-the-ground brand experience to fully understand the importance of choosing the right tyre and how it can have a significant impact on fuel consumption.

“Drivers want a tyre that can give them the best road mileage possible, especially if they travel a lot. However, most drivers usually think that they can save money by buying tyres that cost less, not realising that it will cost them more in the long run.

“While MICHELIN tyres are priced slightly more than other brands, the overall cost of ownership is much lower as they are made from the finest technology and features for superior performance capabilities while allowing drivers to save fuel bills and experience all the advantages that MICHELIN tyres are renowned for – comfort, longevity and safety. In short, MICHELIN offers drivers the best cost over the lifetime of the tyres.”

According to Pouliquen, MICHELIN’s Energy range of tyres with the patented Green X technology were developed using an improved silicon compound that reduces the rolling resistance, meaning less energy and fuel are required to push the vehicle.

“Meanwhile, our latest range of tyre, the new MICHELIN Primacy LC is made to significantly decrease driving noise, fuel consumption and pollution. It reduces rolling resistance by 13 per cent compared to the previous generation, the MICHELIN Energy MXV8,” said Pouliquen.
“In line with MICHELIN’s tagline of ‘A better way forward’, we are pleased to be reaching out to the public and share with them on how MICHELIN tyres can bring them further for less while unleashing their vehicles’ fullest potential,” Pouliquen added.

The ‘MICHELIN Diaries’ roadshow will be held at designated tour sites and major shopping centres in Penang, the Klang Valley, Malacca and Johor Bahru from April 10 to May 16, 2009 where the public can learn more about MICHELIN’s range of fuel saving tyres including the Energy and the new MICHELIN Primacy LC tyres. The public can also participate in various fun and educational activities at the malls and receive attractive, limited MICHELIN premiums.
